#1 Paul Vecker

He was born on September 5, 1927. He is an American economist. In 1952 he joined the staff of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as a full-time economist. He left that position in 1957 to become a financial economist with the chase Manhattan BankHe was the chairman of the federal reverse under United President Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan from August 1979 to 1987. He is widely credited with ending the high levels of inflation seen in the United States in the 1970 and early 1980. He was the Chairman of the economic recovery advisory board under President Barack Obama  from February 2009 until January 2011.
